8.3.2025 Sermon Snapshot
Series: At The Movies
Title: Boo!
Scripture: Isaiah 1:10-20
Summary:
This week, Pastor Jared continued our At the Movies series with a message titled “Boo”—inspired by the film Monsters, Inc. and grounded in the powerful words of Isaiah 1. In a city fueled by fear, Sully the monster makes a radical choice: instead of using Boo for gain, he protects her. He risks everything—his reputation, his safety, his future—because his heart has been transformed by love.
That same invitation to transformation is extended to us through Isaiah’s prophetic call. God is not interested in empty religious rituals. He desires hearts that are surrendered, lives that are just, and hands that defend the vulnerable.
Righteousness isn’t about checking boxes—it’s about becoming a person fully surrendered to God’s purposes. Like Sully, who left behind what was comfortable to do what was right, we are called to live differently. Righteousness costs something—our comfort, our pride, our time—but it transforms us and allows us to be used by God to love others who need it most.
