Scripture: Colossians 3:1-17

Summary:

Paul urges believers to see themselves as God’s chosen, holy, and dearly loved people. Because of that identity, he calls us to “clothe” ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Just like getting dressed each morning, living as Christ’s people requires intentional choices. We don’t drift into holiness — we put on the character of Christ daily.

Above all, Paul says to put on love, which binds everything together in perfect unity. The peace of Christ is to rule in our hearts, shaping both our community and our witness to the world. Gratitude, worship, and the Word of Christ are woven into this life together. As a new school year begins, this passage challenges us to “get dressed” in Christ’s love and let that love define how we live, work, and learn.
