Zillah Church of the Nazarene wants to invite you to join us...

Faith in Action 2010 will take place on Sunday, September 26th, 2010

At Zillah Church of the Nazarene we want to change the world one person at a time.  We believe that we are called to serve and love people, and we want to be intentional about this by "being the church," not just "going to church."  So each year we cancel our Sunday morning gathering and activities to go out into our community to serve through a variety of projects.  Join us, and be a part of making a difference.

Check out what happened the last two years!

Faith in Action 2008

Here are just a few of the highlights of our Faith in Action Service Day!

October 12, 2008

A big thank you to everyone who put their faith in action on this day.  It is our desire that we, God's people, would live a life that demonstrates the love of Christ to others.  We are called to be his hands and his feet, allowing the very life of Christ within us to shine into the world around us.

May we live this way daily everywhere we go.

We gathered at the church for some last minute instructions and a word of prayer.  Mother Theresa once said, "we can not do great things, but we can do small things with great love."  There was excitement in the air!

The teens took on the hillside flower bed at the entrance to the City of Zillah.  They pulled weeds, raked, and filled in an area that was washed out.  Great job teens!  (There were some adults helping too).

Way to go Zack!  We had a group that painted the Cook Shack at Stewart Park.  They did  a great job.  After they were finished it looked like a new buiding.

We built a pergala across from City Hall.  Eventually it will have concrete curbing, rock landscaping, and a sign welcoming people to the City of Zillah.

We had some people who met at the Zillah Food Bank to bag up some bulk food products, do some rearranging, and preparing the food bank for the cold months to come.

We had a group go to the Toppenish Nursing and Rehab Center.  The kids made cards ahead of time and passed them out to the residents. They also sang songs and visited with the folks there.  One of the children remarked afterward, "that made me feel good."  The church in action loving and caring for those sometimes forgotten.
